Janis Landry-Lane

WW Software Defined Life Sciences Industry Lead


Janis Landry-Lane, World-wide Program Director of IBM Systems Division, leads a team of subject matter experts in Genomic Medicine. With both PhDs and MD/PhDs, the team is valued for their understanding of customer requirements. In addition, Janis works with IBM partners to optimise and enable their software as a part of an overall deliverable, she has also worked with customers world-wide to build extensible environments using IBM's best practices. In this role, Janis is the Senior Executive who builds strategy, working across IBM's divisions with engagements in both the academic and commercial life sciences accounts. She has held this position for over 4 years, and reports to the IBM World-wide Vice President.

During the last 38 years Janis has had various roles at IBM, including a leadership role with world-wide high performance computing. She has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Central Michigan University Research Corporation (2000 - 2007). Janis was guiding their research on the use of data mining techniques for both commercial and healthcare projects, and has been active in the development of the CMU Research Corporation.

He is a recognised legal expert and author in the fields of IT, e-commerce, computer games, media and publishing, data protection, information security and cyber risks. Robert is Secretary of the Board of the Society for Corporate Compliance & Ethics; Chairman of the Big Data Governance committee of techUK; a member of the UN Data Privacy Advisory Group and is an Ambassador for Privacy by Design.

Ruis Dinis

Rui Dinis is a senior Finance and Business Administration executive with a passion for technology. Rui has trained and worked internationally, holding Finance posts in companies such as NCH Corporation, Carrefour and Atlanco Rimec. He is currently Director of Finance and Business Administration at ManpowerGroup in Portugal. As well as heading up critical business functions such as Finance, HR and Operations, Rui is leading a comprehensive, strategic Digital Transformation programme to revolutionise ManpowerGroup Portugal's business and IT operations and its customer experience.

Matthew Kay

Information Governance Manager

London Borough of Hounslow

Matthew holds a Masters in Information Rights Law and Practice and the BCS certificate in Data Protection. He is experienced in case handling and advising organisations on information compliance across a variety of sectors. Matthew currently manages the Information Governance (IG) function for the London Borough of Hounslow and is the organisational lead for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). He is also an established member of the London Information Governance Network.

Matthew gained valuable experience in the audit department at the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) helping organisations improve their privacy practices to reduce risk. He provided expert advice to local government, criminal justice and health organisations through on-site audits which were followed up with listed recommendations. Matthew particularly enjoyed being part of a network of trainers and delivered internal training to all levels within ICO.

His diverse work experience has exposed him to Information risks facing the Financial, Higher Education, Property and Transport, Emergency and Legal sectors.


Mike Maddock

Thomas Cook

Mike is Director of Kader Technology Ltd, a consultancy firm that specialises in helping organisations leverage technology for competitive advantage. Currently working with Thomas Cook Group PLC, Mike leads a team of Solution Architects responsible for the realisation of business, data and technology strategies and the creation of a Group-wide executable technology roadmap.

Previously Mike provided consultancy and research on emerging consumer and technology trends for BGL Group, highlighting the potential impacts and opportunities to the CIO and the senior executive community. His remit also included the development of the BGL Group technology strategy and was a key contributor to the Group's data strategy with the design and facilitation workshops for the Executive Board and other senior business stakeholders. Mike was also heavily involved in innovation initiatives within BGL Group including the setting up and running of ctmLabs, a dedicated innovation team within comparethemarket.com.

With over 25 years' experience in IT, Mike began his career designing mission critical systems for the medical sector before moving to financial services in 1997. Mike has held technical architecture positions in Cap Gemini, Thomas Cook and was the Head Software Architect in Travelex.

Since joining dunnhumby in 2005, Jason has held roles such as Global Solutions Director for Category Management, Solutions Director Brazil, and Global Director of Products. Prior to joining dunnhumby, Jason was Space and Category Management Consultant at ACNielsen and has also held Analyst Developer roles at both the Royal Mail and Statpro.

Steve has had a varied career at IBM where he has held leadership positions running services businesses and industry teams. In 2016 he took on the role of leading IBM's programme to help clients on their journey to addressing the General Data Protection Regulation. In this role he leads a team that bring the best of IBM's consulting capabilities in privacy, security and business transformation together with IBM's technologies in data analytics and security that enable clients to get practical with the GDPR.

Veroniki Stamati

Information Security Assurance Manager


Veroniki Stamati is an Information Security and Data Protection professional, who specialises within the area of Governance, Risk and Compliance. Veroniki is responsible for Information Security Assurance and Data Protection in ACCA and is the leading SME in the GDPR programme. In the past she had been working across a variety of industries consulting and advising up to CxO level on Information Security Management, Data Protection & Privacy.

In addition to technical expertise, Veroniki is also a public speaker and a member of Toastmasters. Veroniki has studied Informatics in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and obtained her Masters in Computing, IT Law and Management from King's College London.

Bob Tulloch

Prior to the acquisition by DRG, Robert was Technical Director of Walnut Medical. The company collected, processed and published detailed information about medical markets in Europe.

Walnut Medical's reporting and analytics solutions are built upon a range of both publicly available and proprietary data sources and methodologies, providing customers access to European procedure volume data and a hospital registry database, both down to the facility level. Robert Tulloch together with Kimmi Crosby started Walnut Medical about 20 years ago.

Prior to founding Walnut Medical, Robert worked at PA Technology, Mars and General Electric, after graduating from Manchester University.


Bridget Kenyon

Bridget Kenyon (CISSP) is Head of Information Security for University College London. Her experience in information security started in 2000 with a role in network vulnerabilities at DERA. Following this, she took hands-on roles as a network administrator and a systems administrator, before returning to her favoured field as Information Security Officer for the University of Warwick.

In 2007, Bridget moved into consulting as a QSA and advised many of the major UK banks on payment card security (PCI DSS), as well as clients in the educational, retail, telecommunications and hospitality sectors. During this period, she also became involved in the development of ISO/IEC 27001 and other standards relating to information security management. In addition to her UCL role, Bridget is an active member of BSI Panel 1 (for development of ISO/IEC 27001 and related standards), and has edited ISO/IEC 27013. She also chairs the NHS-HE Forum IG Working Group, which provides HE input into the Information Governance Toolkit. Bridget has co-authored three textbooks on information security, most recently the UCISA Information Security Management Toolkit (Part 1).

Erik Vynckier

Foresters Friendly Society

Erik Vynckier was co-opted to the Board of Foresters Friendly Society in 2016.

He was previously Chief Investment Officer at Alliance Bernstein responsible for asset management solutions to support the investment, capital management and product development of insurers. Before, Erik managed with-profits and annuity funds at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, improving risk/return with novel assets and derivatives overlays. Earlier, he managed the Group Risk Hub of Standard Life, hedging equity, interest rate and currency risks of with-profits and variable annuities.

Before that, Erik worked at investment banks Credit Suisse First Boston and HSBC, in equity program trading, quantitative development and pension fund and insurance asset-liability management. Prior to his MBA, Erik held R&D, production and strategy positions in the petrochemical industry in France, Belgium, Germany, the US and the UK.

He has also founded and served as board member of www.hpcfinance.eu and www.bigdatafinance.eu, the European initiatives on high performance computing and big data analytics in Finance.

Erik graduated as Chemical Engineer at Universiteit Gent (Belgium) and completed his MBA at London Business School in 2000.
